Mike Salmon has been in the business of making people’s homes and businesses more comfortable for over fifty years. He came to work for Anderson Air Corps in 1979 as a salesman. Prior to joining Anderson Air Corps, Mike learned the air conditioning business by working for his family’s company in California for 13 years. He holds an Associate’s Degree from Long Beach City College and has completed various general and business related courses at Cal State Los Angeles.
Through demonstrated success and commitment to growing the business, Mike climbed the ladder of company leadership at Anderson Air Corps. He became a co-owner and operator in 1996, and took over all operations in 2004.
With natural leadership qualities and great emphasis on equipping employees to do their jobs well, Mike handles the financial aspects of the business and corporate relationships with the company’s bank, accounting firm, insurance agency, vendors and others. As general manager of day-to-day operations, he works with the core group of employees to make sure they have what they need to carry out their jobs. He approaches his leadership role within the company as one of focusing employees and giving them educational opportunities and experience, and letting them grow—both personally and professionally. He gives employees the learning opportunities and the decision-making opportunities to put their knowledge and skill to good use in helping customers.
He takes pride in running an open company, in which the focus is customer satisfaction, professionalism, friendliness, and making sure Anderson Air Corps provides Quality, Comfort and Value on all jobs. With this philosophy in mind, he believes that, if you take care of customers first, the business will take care of itself.
Anderson Air Corps is one of the few dealers that has been selected as a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer and was awarded the Carrier President’s Award. The company holds membership with the Better Business Bureau as well as various trade organizations including ACCA, ABC, AGC and RSES. Field technicians are EPA certified and state licensed. Most are certified to the high standards of the North American Technician Excellence (NATE) program. The company also consistently achieves the Angie’s List Super Service Award. This is in line with Mike’s goal to stay up-to-date and well informed on all latest industry trends and provide only the best in service.
Kyle Redford joined Anderson Air Corps as an estimator in 1994, following his move to Albuquerque from Indiana, where he owned and operated his own heating and air conditioning company. Kyle joined the team with a background in HVAC work dating back to his days while working and studying at Purdue University.
After demonstrated success as an estimator, he was promoted to service department manager, where he increased the number of commercial accounts and helped grow the service department and make it more stable and profitable. From this role, Kyle was promoted to Service Manager and is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Anderson Air Corps. In his current roles, he works closely with President, Mike Salmon, on day-to-day corporate management projects, such as budgets, insurance, banking, legal issues pertaining to the company and the industry as a whole. Additionally, as Chief Operating Officer, he is responsible for overseeing daily operations, insurance, advertising, corporate relationships and communications.
As a strong leader with the ability to see the big picture of any issue that arises—as well as being able to view issues from multiple points of view—Kyle is seen as the calm in the storm and always puts the customer first, focusing on providing the best value at the best price and educating employees to do the same. He enjoys coming up with solutions to solve customers’ problems and values the training and education aspect that is entrenched in the Anderson Air Corps philosophy. His main goals are taking care of customers, vendors and employees and continuing to foster the principles that make Anderson Air Corps a long-term business focused on providing expert service, in a timely manner, for a fair price—and making it a place where people enjoy the work that they do.
Kyle is a NATE certified technician and has MM98 and E98 licenses. He is also a member of RSES, ACCA and ABC.
Andrew Varney joined Anderson Air Corps in 1996 with an employment background as an auto mechanic. During his early years working at Anderson Air Corps, Andrew worked under experienced journeymen and attended training courses. He has a journeyman sheet metal and gas fitters license, is a certified welder, and is EPA Refrigerant and NATE certified.
Following his extensive training and work experience, he climbed the ladder of the company and took over the general supervision of the contracting department in 2004. In this role, he recruits, trains and supervises a team of up to 18 installers for both residential and commercial projects. He is closely involved in each job, making site visits and creating material lists, shop fabrication lists, and work schedules. Additionally, he fields customer concerns and questions, supervises installations and oversees inspections. On larger commercial projects, Andrew works as a field project manager and provides quality control follow-ups on projects.
Andrew also serves in commercial sales for Anderson Air Corps. In this role, he works with the sales department to perform walk-throughs, set up jobs, and coordinate between the shop, contractors and customers, seeing the job from start to finish.
He is known to customers and staff as the man who gets the job done, and his overall working knowledge of Anderson Air Corps’ services and the industry—with 20 years in the industry—make him an invaluable asset to customers and fellow staff members. Andrew enjoys the challenge that working in such an ever-changing industry provides and prides himself on quality work and customer satisfaction, and works to ensure that customers are always pleased with the work they receive.
Michael Huffstutler, Service Manager, joined the Anderson Air Corps team in 1996 following high school and college studies. Over the years, he trained under experienced journeymen and moved up the ladder to become first a supervisor, then Assistant Service Manager. In his current role, he is responsible for overseeing service techs, troubleshooting technical issues, performing design work for controls and piping systems for boilers and chillers, and performing technical assistance on IT issues at the office. With a special knack for troubleshooting and repairs, Michael helps the team in both internal and external projects.
He approaches his job with the main goal of meeting the needs of Anderson Air Corps’ customers and believes that customer satisfaction is the key to a successful company. This attitude is instilled in every technician he supervises, and customer satisfaction has never been higher under his leadership. He is NATE certified and is proud to be part of the Anderson Air Corps team.
Krista Ghigliotty, Lead Bookkeeper, has been with Anderson Air Corps since 1994, and currently handles payables and receivables, payroll, job billings, and paying the company taxes. She began with Anderson part time while completing her education and continued as a full- time employee following graduation. Krista has been involved in all aspects of the day-to-day operations at Anderson Air Corps, handling dispatch, taking service calls, scheduling projects, assisting with bookkeeping duties, and writing service agreements.
With her long history in the company, she knows Anderson Air Corps’ repeat customers, their unique needs, accounts, and project history, and goes above-and-beyond to make sure their requests are met efficiently and accurately. She carries the philosophy of “customers first” into every day at her job and enjoys talking to each customer to figure out how they can be better served. She is an integral part of the Anderson Air Corps family.
John Lewis joined Anderson Air Corps as a preventative maintenance technician in the service department in 2001, and was promoted to repair technician after receiving EPA and NATE certifications. In 2004, John was transferred to the sales department to work with residential and light commercial customers. Prior to joining Anderson Air Corps, John attended the University of New Mexico and served in the United States Air Force.
John is an estimator, a salesman and, most importantly, a problem solver. Additionally, he enjoys getting to know the customers, making acquaintances into friends, and genuinely listening to customers and assessing the issues they are facing to help them solve their heating and cooling problems in the most effective manner.
His job responsibilities include meeting with customers and analyzing all aspects of an issue, making thorough inspections, running calculations to determine accurate sizes of equipment, making recommendations and providing options with accurate estimates, and finally overseeing the process from sale to installation to follow up.
Dino joined Anderson Air Corps in 2002 as a Service Technician, with seventeen years of HVAC experience. Prior to joining Anderson, Dino was trained in fabricating sheet metal ductwork by a sheet metal journeyman. He also worked in the field and installed duct work in new homes, before receiving his Gas fitter journeyman license, becoming EPA certified and receiving his universal license.
At Anderson Air Corps, he has continued to expand his skills and knowledge of the industry. Beginning as a Service Technician, he serviced HVAC systems, chillers, heat pumps, low pressure and steam boilers. With a commitment to customer satisfaction and quality of work, he was promoted to the sales team as an Estimator in 2016.
Due to his extensive experience as a fabricator, installer and service technician, he educates customers on how HVAC systems operate and what type would be best for their home. With strong interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor, working with customers is his strong suit. He prides himself on working hard to ensure a customer’s needs are met and that the product and work exceeds their expectations.
He is NATE Certified and has universal licenses in heating, air conditioning, boilers and heat pumps.
G abe Pena, Residential Installation Manager, has been part of the Anderson Air Corps family since 2011. Over his time with the company, he has worked in service, residential installation, large commercial and industrial applications. His expertise gained from this experience has led him to his current position leading the residential installation department.
Gabe values good people, honesty, and doing the right thing. He instills these values into the dependable and hard-working team of residential installers he oversees. He works with each customer to schedule their installations and insures everything is ready to go for the job to be done on time. From initial layout to the project’s final inspection, Gabe is involved with every aspect of installation and puts the customer’s needs first. He is always available to them for any questions or concerns.
Gabe has his EPA, MM98, NATE, JR, and OSHA 30 certifications.
